Steven Gerrard “Not Interested” In Topping The Table: Rangers 1:0 Hamilton

Steven Gerrard expressed his displeasure over his performance of side and said they lacked the “killer instinct”. He added that he is in no way interested in topping the league table and he puts the team’s interest before personal interest. For him, the performance of his team matters more than any other thing.

The early strike by Daniel Candeias gave the side of Ibrox a 1-0 victory over the side of Hamilton to the summit of Premiership. But the manager of Rangers said “we should definitely need to learn a lot” after they failed to win it more substantially. Gerrard while interacting with the Rangers TV told that “I am very happy about the victory, but we need a lot to improve.” He added “I am pleased with some of the game’s aspects. We were really very good without the ball. But when we were able to get the ball we lacked a killer instinct.”

Rangers managed to surge to the Premiership summit as Candeias got his team off to an ideal start by firing the first goal in just 2 minutes and Steven claimed his time should have had been victorious “after just 5 minutes”.

And when the reporters asked him about his team reining the first spot in the league’s table, he replied “Not at all interested. Not interested in securing number 1 rank of the league. We have suffered a lot as a team when we were at the top position of the league against hearts for almost 8 days. When asked about the performance of the players, he answered: “Our players have done a lot of things perfect in today’s match, but being a player of the Rangers comes with great responsibility and pressure and you have to come forward and step up in that pitch’s final part.”
